2024 Nonnewaug Flag Football

Registration closes Friday August 23rd at 12:00pm!

Nonnewaug Flag Football will kick off its season in September!
Offered as a program through Woodbury Parks & Recreation, Nonnewaug Flag Football is open to boys and girls in grades K-8 in Woodbury, Bethlehem, and surrounding communities. Nonnewaug Flag Football's mission is to promote fitness, sportsmanship, all through football activities and competitive games. Flag Football gives children the option to play football with the same fitness and competitive benefits of tackle football, but in a non-contact environment. Children learn a variety of positions and skill sets that can be carried on to other sports.


Mandatory Evaluations: Mandatory evaluations for all players are rescheduled for Monday, August 26
Grades 3-5 at 6:00pm, Grades 6-8 at 7:00pm. 
Hollow Park. Cleats helpful but not mandatory.
Players who would like to be evaluated from 2nd grade can come at 6:00pm. 

Note regarding evaluations: Evaluations are only necessary for 3rd to 8th grade players.

If you have a 2nd grader that really needs to "play up" with the next division, they will have to attend evaluations.  Please contact us so we are aware that your 2nd grader will be attending evaluations. 

The week after evaluations we will hold our draft to chose teams.  This leads us to practices starting after Labor Day weekend (Week of Sept 2 to Sept 9). After evaluations, the coaches will need a few days to create teams. Expect to hear from your coaches soon after that. 

First games to be Sept 15.
    
Game times:
JV Grades 3-5: 10:00am 
Varsity Grades 6-8: 11:00am 
Rookies Grades K-2:  TBD

Location: Hollow Park
 
One Saturday night game under the lights at the high school per season.
 
Last Game:November 10

Coaches needed! Please contact us if interested. Will need to fill out Background check form available from Parks & Rec. 

Fee:  $135 for Woodbury residents, $162 for non-residents
Nonnewaug Flag Football's mission is to promote fitness and teamwork for boys and girls in grades K-8 through fun and friendly football activities and games. Teams will practice 1-2 evenings per week based on field availability. Games will be played Sundays against other Nonnewaug Flag Football teams under a modified version of Flag Football's rules and guidelines. Team roster sizes will be kept small to give all kids maximum playing time.
